The invention discloses an oscillating tool having an attachment opening for attachment to a drive shaft of an oscillating drive that can be driven oscillating about a pivot axis. Spaced from the attachment opening is provided a working section for processing a work piece. The oscillating tool is provided with a balancing section by which balancing of the oscillating tool relative to the pivot axis of the drive shaft, on which the oscillating tool is mounted, is achieved.
