Phenyl-substituted cyclic keto-enol compounds (I) are new. Phenyl-substituted cyclic keto-enol compounds of formula (I) are new. [Image] - ACTIVITY : Insecticide; acaricide; nematocide; herbicide; antifouling; fungicide; antibacterial. 3-(2,4-Dimethyl-6-ethylphenyl)-5,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxy-2-oxo-2,5-dihyd ropyrrole (Ia) at a concentration of 1000 ppm gave 100% mortality of Plutella xylostella caterpillars on cabbage leaves in 7 days. - MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given. |
