FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines, pumps and compressors. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to seals for piston used in engines, pumps and compressors. Proposed piston seal has piston with groove made on its side surface and sealing ring fitted in groove. Piston is provided with at least two grooves and additional cylindrical groove adjoining end face surface of piston. Sealing ring is made solid, surface of ring in contact with cylinder surface is made cylindrical, and surface of ring in contact with groove surface follows form of said grooves. Guaranteed clearance is provided between inner surface of ring and surface of said cylindrical grooves. Sealing ring is made by welding-on or pouring. ^ EFFECT: provision pf reliable and effective sealing of cylinder-piston pair, increased service life of seal, reduced noise and vibration. ^ 1 dwg |
