PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a glass broken piece-utilizing greening base material comprising ensuring gaps for making plants spread their roots and ensuring bonding of glass foam to one another. SOLUTION: The method for producing glass broken piece-utilizing greening base material comprises the following steps: collecting waste glass bottles, breaking the glass bottles into pieces, further pulverizing the glass bottle pieces into minute glass powder and sieving the glass powder (S10-16); mixing the minute glass powder, foaming agent and a binder together (S18); forming the mixture into a flat plate state, and finely separating the flat plate-state mixture to be formed into small blocks of unbaked granulated spheres (S20, S22); baking the unbaked granulated spheres to form space-regulating spheres (S24) and simultaneously form unbaked glass plates (S26); mixing the unbaked granulated spheres and the air space-regulating spheres together and laminating the mixture on the unbaked glass plate (S28); baking the laminated materials so as to be bound to one another (S30); and obtaining the greening base material (S32).
