METHOD FOR OPERATING A TURBINE

A method for operating a turbine, which is arranged in a compressed air energy storage power plant, involves a controlling of an airflow using an open control loop whereby acting within a lower turbine rotational speed range, and involves a controlling of the turbine rotational speed using a closed control loop whereby acting within a higher turbine rotational speed range. The controlling that uses an open control loop involves the controlling of the air flow with the aid of air inlet valves and involves a free development of the turbine rotational speed. The controlling that uses the closed control loop involves the controlling of the turbine rotational speed with the aid of a rotational speed regulator upon which a rotational speed limit value acts that is determined in accordance with the present air flow and with a ventilation calculation. The rotational speed regulator activates a static frequency converter in the event the turbine rotational speed reaches values that are critical with regard to turbine ventilation or rotor dynamics.
