Device for detecting the presence of a flow in a harvesting machine

The system for detecting the presence of harvested material in a harvesting machine (10) comprises a knock sensor (42) which detects vibration caused by the material passing through the machine. This can be mounted on counter-blade (38) of the chopper drum (22) on a forage harvester or the concave of a combine harvester. Independent claims are included for: (a) a system for determining the area which has been harvested using the above system; and (b) a yield display or yield mapping system using it.
