The database analysis system comprises a store for storing databases, a user input and output, and a processor. The store comprises two databases, one containing records of prospective customers, the other contains records of previous customers, each record comprises predictor variables such as customer characteristics, each predictor variable is discretely identifiable in a separate field, each field being categorised into at least two categories, the processor compares predictor variables for each of the records in the first and second database sends the comparative result through the user output for example as a profile report. The processor may calculate a statistical significance for comparative results and preferably uses a weighted model analysis, which may be a hybrid model using both bayesian probability and information theory. Also included is an independent claim for a method of transferring marketing data between computers.
