A glass melting furnace forehearth installation includes a feeder tube assembly for a feeder bowl, and comprises: (a) an horizontal elongate support arm (30); (b) a vertically extending feeder tube (22); (c) a latch mechanism carried by the support arm for releasably securing the feeder tube to the support arm at a location adjacent an end of the support arm; and (d) a vertically extending servo motor actuated linear actuator (44) supporting the support arm (30) between the ends; it is operable to adjust the elevation of the support arm.
