The decor part is a plastics support part with a thin metal decor plate fixed thereon. The decor plate (2) is inserted in an injection casting mould and the plastics support material is injected directly onto the back of the plate so that the two parts are fixedly connected together at least in some areas so that they form a stable finished unit. The back of the decor plate can be completely smooth and is generally supported all round by the plastics support part.
