A flat display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent deterioration of a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) characteristic on a substrate by improving surface roughness of the substrate. A flat display device includes a metal substrate(210) and a first adjusting layer(212). The first adjusting layer containing glass is formed on the substrate. The substrate with the first adjusting layer has surface roughness of 0<Rms<10nm, 0<Rp-v<100nm when being measured with a scan range of 10mumÎ10mum by an AFM(Atomic Force Microscope). The substrate has thickness of 0.05~1mm. The substrate contains at least one metal selected from a group of Ti, Ni, Invar, and SUS(Steel Use Stainless). |
