The glass pane (2) is held horizontally to act as a shelf. The holder (1) has a long projection (4) supporting the underside of the pane and a short upper projection (5), holding down the edge of the glass pane. An electrical cable (12) is connected to the central layer of the glass pane for generation of light, heat or sounds. A shelf (7) on the side of the frame away from the glass pane holds a transformer (9) which reduces the high voltage from the mains supply to the low voltage to be fed to the glass pane.
