The coat application elements (9, 10) consist of an electrically conductive material and are electrically connected to at least one sacrificial anode (3, 3a). The latter is in electric contact with an aqueous anionic coating material (4), and consists of a material which in terms of the electric potential is less noble than the material of the coat application elements.
