The shelf system has a number of compartment bottoms (20) which in the region of one end face each have at least one indicator element for commissioning data. The shelf system has data communicating means for the connecting of indicator elements to a control computer, and the communicating elements are created so that a data exchange between the indicator elements and computer can be carried out independent of the relative position between the compartment bottoms and other component parts of the shelf system.
