<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a two-dimensional observation of an approached object to be observed by using a three-dimensional observation display unit and spectacles without using a two-dimensional observation display unit. <P>SOLUTION: Image data obtained by right and left CCDs 3L and 3R of distal ends of an electronic endoscope main body 14 are respectively recorded in left and right image data memories 20L and 20R, and the left and right image data in the memories 20L and 20R are read at a doubling speed of that at a recording time, at a three-dimensional observation time, and when the left and right images are alternatively displayed on the display unit 10, the object is stereoscopically observed by the spectacles 11. Meanwhile, when the two-dimensional observation is selected by a display switching operation switch 23, only the left image data of the image data stored in the memories 20L and 20R are, for example, read twice at the doubling speed as that at the recording time, only the left image data are displayed on the unit 10, and hence the object can be observed in a two-dimensional manner by the spectacles 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
