<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a bearing device for a drive wheel to stably increase the size of a fit-in part, be freed from unevenness in strength of a plastic binding portion, and improve reliability on quality. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises a process wherein a mandrel M having a large part M1 formed that a large part is larger by a give size than the inside diameter of a fit-in part 17b of an outer joint member 14 is inserted in a fit-in state in the outer joint member 14; a process wherein a small step part lb of a hub wheel 1 and a shoulder part 16 of the outer joint member 14 are brought into an abutting state and the hub wheel 1 and the outer joint member 14 are fitted in each other; and a process wherein a side 4a on the outboard side of a wheel mounting flange 4 is supported at a support stand B. The mandrel M is fixed, the support stand B is raised. The fit-in part 17b is increased in size by extending the large part M1 of the mandrel M1 through the inside diameter of the fit-in part 17b of the outer joint member 14. The hub wheel 1 and the outer joint member 14 are integrally plastically jointed by biting the fit in part 17b into an uneven part 5 of the hub wheel 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
