<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter power source for an image recording apparatus to be connected to the image recording apparatus capable of recording an image without using a personal computer, and to provide a controlling method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: Image data stored in a memory card 10 mounted on the adapter power source are read out by a PCMCIA card controller 83 so that a direct printing controller 82 produces printing data including image data and a control command transferrable to a printer, based on the read out image data. The produced printing data are transmitted to the printer using an IEEE1284 controller via an IEEE1284 connector 34. By mounting the adapter power source on the printer, the printer receives the power supply and records an image without using a personal computer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
