PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reciprocating saw allowing an operator to adjust the grip. SOLUTION: The power tool comprises a spindle for supporting a tool element, a body constituting a pivot axis and storing a motor, and a driving mechanism driven by the motor. The driving mechanism drives the spindle, and the body has a front end and a rear end for supporting the spindle. The grip is connected to the rear end of the body so that the body can rotate around the pivot axis. The reciprocating saw comprises a lock assembly for locking the grip at the rotated position relative to the body and a switch assembly supported at least partially on the grip. When the lock assembly is in the unlocked state, the switch assembly is preferably inoperable. When the switch assembly is in the operated state, the state of the lock assembly cannot be transferred to the unlocked state preferably. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
