PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter which is simple in structure, is cleaned and exchanged without necessitating a special tool and special manufacturing skill and is manufactured and maintained at low cost and in which the cleanliness of the filtrate to be obtained by filtration is easily changed, and to provide a method for handling the filter. SOLUTION: A filter element having a filtration function is fitted to the outer side face of a cylindrical filter structure to form a filter main body. A press plate is stuck fast to one open end of the filter main body and a perforated plate is stuck fast to the other open end so that a hole part of the perforated plate communicates with a hollow part of the filter main body. A fixing member which has a bar-shaped head and is composed of a head part to be engaged with the hole part of the perforated plate and a bar-shaped part is inserted into the hole part of the perforated plate. The fixing member projected from a hole part arranged on the press plate is fixed by a fastening member to integrate the perforated plate, the filter main body and the press plate.
