PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging device which satisfactorily packages various types of merchandise, and which allows a worker to be less attentive in placing merchandise on the device. SOLUTION: This stretch packaging device folds the peripheral part of a film F covering merchandise toward the bottom side of the merchandise for heat sealing, and is provided with front and back clamps 53, 54 and a control part. The clamps 53, 54 set the film F for covering the merchandise. The control part controls the movement of the clamps 53, 54 so that the plane position of the film F relative to the plane position of the merchandise changes depending on the merchandise.
