PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil separator which can be assembled at a low cost by using a small truck and a crane even if its size is large, and to provide a method for assembling the oil separator. SOLUTION: This oil separator comprises: a rectangular concrete-made lower frame body (1) the undersurface and top surface of which are opened; and a rectangular upper frame body (11) which is piled on the body (1) and the top surface and bottom surface of which are opened. The bottom (21) of the oil separator is formed by laying a reinforcing bar (20) between the holes opened in the lower parts of the opposite side faces of the body (1) and casting concrete. A passage pipe (23) is fit to this oil separating tank by removing a thin wall part (16) formed on the body (11). The top surface of the body (11) is closed by a cap (17). COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
