PURPOSE: A low-power LCD driver is provided to reduce a size and the power consumption by using a dedicated resistive divider chain that is selectively switched between adjacent pairs of coarse analog reference signals to generate finer analog reference signals. CONSTITUTION: A low-power LCD driver includes a plurality of input taps, a first switch bank(404), a second switch bank(406), a resistor divider chain(402), a third switch tank(408), and a decoder. The input taps are used for receiving analog reference signals. The first switch bank(404) includes a plurality of first transistors having a plurality of input terminals connected to the input taps and a plurality of output terminals connected to the first node. The second switch bank(406) includes a plurality of second transistors having a plurality of input terminals connected to the input taps and a plurality of output terminals connected to the second node. The resistor divider chain(402) includes a plurality of resistors connected between the first node and the second node. The third switch tank(408) includes a plurality of fourth transistors having a plurality of input terminals and a plurality of output terminals connected to internal nodes of the resistor divider chain. The decoder is used for receiving digital input signals and controlling the first and the second switch banks.
