PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding wheel used for polishing or grinding various types of materials, capable of attaining high abrasion resistance, toughness and lubricating performance, excellent heat resistance, and high absorbing and delivering capabilities against cutting chips. SOLUTION: In this grinding wheel of which the main components are abrasive grain and binder phase, easily graphitized carbon is used in part or the whole of the binder phase. As necessary, solid lubricant, fibrous substance or the like is charged. As a measuring method, at least an organic material for generating the easily graphitized carbon is blended after burning process with the abrasive grain, and is shaped into a prescribed shape for burning.
