摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxidation catalyst for an allyl compound and to provide a method for manufacturing an epoxy compound from an allyl compound as the source material. <P>SOLUTION: The epoxidation catalyst for an allyl compound comprises at least one kind of oxide of 4, 5 or 6 group transition metals in the first half portion of the periodic table as the main catalyst and a basic metal oxide as a promoter. The catalyst is manufactured by first depositing a basic metal or a basic metal compound on a carrier, then depositing the 4, 5 or 6 group transition metals or the 4, 5 or 6 group transition metal compounds thereon, and heat treating. In the method for manufacturing an epoxy compound, an allyl compound is made to react with an organic hydroperoxide in the presence of the above epoxidation catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
