<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mounting property on a vehicle and to increase redundancy, in a steering apparatus for a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A torque-driving force converting mechanism 10a converts turning operation of a steering handle 13 into driving force of a screw rod 11, and the driving force is converted into oil pressure by a driving force-fluid pressure converting mechanism 10b and the oil pressure is output. A fluid pressure-driving force converting mechanism 20a converts the oil pressure into driving force of a piston rod 22, and the driving force is converted into torque by a driving force-torque converting mechanism 20b. The torque turns a pinion gear 42, so that right and left front wheels 44a, 44b are turned by rightward and leftward displacement of a rack shaft 43. Further, steering reaction by an electric motor 66 is applied to the steering handle 13, together with steering reaction by coil springs 19a, 19b.
