PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter which is simple in structure, is easily handled, is hardly clogged and is easily regenerated even when clogged and in which the breeding of microorganisms can be suppressed. SOLUTION: An assembly of small pieces is adopted as a filtration layer of this filtration apparatus, and the filtration layer is made freely detachable. An introduction port of raw water is arranged in the direction tangential to the inner wall of a treating chamber so that centrifugal force is applied to the raw water at the front side of the filtration layer.
