PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen selective permeable membrane which is obtained by using a hydrogen selective permeable metal membrane having high separation performance, and little production of defects by physical contact or the like, suppressing decrease in the separation performance by hydrogen embrittlement at low temperatures, and suppressing decrease in the hydrogen permeation rate by a coexisting gas. SOLUTION: In the hydrogen selective permeable membrane, a hydrogen selective permeable metal membrane is formed on a membrane support and the surface of the metal membrane on the upstream side of the permeating flow is coated with a hydrogen selective permeable polymer substrate.
