PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner in which the dirt of a light transmitting portion is prevented and cleaning is easy, and antibacterial and deodorizing effects by a photocatalyst is obtained. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner mounting a cyclone dust collector 2 having a cyclone turning chamber 6 for turning air containing sucked dust and a dust collecting chamber 7 for collecting dust separated from the cyclone turning chamber 6, wherein a violet color light-emitting diode 19 for generating ultraviolet rays irradiated to the inside of the cyclone dust collector 2 is placed in a cleaner main body 1, and a light transmitting portion 23 transmitting ultraviolet rays is formed in the part opposite to the violet color light-emitting diode 19 of the dust collecting chamber 7, and a photocatalyst paint 22 is applied to the cyclone dust collector 2, especially a part excluding the light transmitting portion 23 on the inside of the dust collecting chamber 7.
