PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cigarette imitation article that has the similar shape to conventional cigarette but does not need the combustion of the imitated article instead aerosol is delivered and the article is recycled. SOLUTION: The article 10 delivers aerosol to a user and comprises an open-ended hollow tube 12 defining an air passageway between a heat receiving end 18 and a mouth end 20 thereof, the tube 12 non-combustible upon application of a heat source 21; a substrate 14 containing an aerosol forming component, the substrate 14 having a front end 15 and a base, and positioned so as to cross the cross section of the tube 12, the distal end 15 spaced from the heat receiving end 18 to form a continuous air gap 16 of sufficient length to prevent combustion of the substrate 14 when a heat source 21 is disposed adjacent to the heat receiving end 18.
