<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cotton culture medium for cultivating plants, having water retainability and air permeability each necessary for cultivating plants. <P>SOLUTION: The cotton culture medium is made of water-permeable and defatted cotton and air-permeable cotton each necessary for cultivating plants. Proper amounts of the water-permeable cotton and the air-permeable cotton are mixed together or piled on each other so as to be use as the medium.
