<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a printing density of a character dedicated for magnetic reading to be in an optimum condition by considering preventive maintenance, by a method wherein a reference value for detecting a condition at a time before reading error occurs is preset in the case where a printed character dedicated for magnetic reading is read and a reading error is detected corresponding to signal intensity of the character. <P>SOLUTION: After an MICR character is printed on a security paper by an MICR toner printer 7, a rear processor 8 reads the MICR character on the security paper to detect the signal intensity. In the case where the signal intensity exceeds a range of an inner reference value B in a condition at a time before a reading error occurs, even when the signal intensity is out of a range of a normal reference value A which is supposed to be a criterion of the reading error; the printing density of the MICR character by the MICR printer 7 is controlled such that the signal intensity is within the range of the inner reference value B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
