PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress and prevent a bad odor from being generated when garbage is treated. SOLUTION: A garbage disposer 1 is provided with a smashing means 23 dehydrating the garbage fed from a top end opening of a box-like housing 2 while it is smashed and sending it out in the downward direction, a grinding means 24 grinding and cutting the garbage sent out from the smashing means 23, and a storing body 4 storing the ground and cut garbage. This smashing means 23 has a multi-stage roller mechanism 3 in which pairs of rollers 25 the outer peripheral faces 31 of which are brought into contact with each other are adjoined in a multi-stages up and down, and a driving motor 34 for rotating and driving the multi-stage roller mechanism 3.
