<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably clear a new concentration regulatory value of 5 ng-TEQ/m<SB>3</SB>or less and to prevent the occurrence of moisture condensation clogging of a bag filter when carrying out sprinkling cooling of a high-temperature waste gas of an electric furnace by cooling the waste gas to a low-temperature vapor saturation region for substantially lowering dioxin vapor pressure and making the waste gas pass through the bag filter, and to achieve further the downsizing and energy saving of an exhaust fan by substantially reducing the total amount of exhaust gas sucked by an exhaust fan. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for treating the waste gas of the electric furnace, the high-temperature waste gas from an electric furnace (1) is sequentially introduced into and made to pass through a combustion tower (2), a bag filter type dust collector (4), a cooling tower (CT), and an exhaust fan (5q) and then diffused into the atmosphere. When carrying out the sprinkling cooling of the high-temperature waste gas in the cooling tower (CT), the target temperature of a cooled outflow gas from the cooling tower (CT) is set to be 100°C or below and to be within the limits equal to or above a saturation temperature previously determined by a relation between the temperature of an inflow gas to the cooling tower (CT) and humidity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
