PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure an image recording quality regardless of a recording starting position by a recording head. SOLUTION: A recording apparatus comprises a carriage with the recording head mounted provided reciprocally movably by driving force of a carriage driving motor via a timing belt, for transmitting a recording command signal to the recording head. In the case the carriage is moved to any of an acceleration area A, a constant speed area B, and a deceleration area C; the timing for generating the recording command signal is corrected according to the carriage speed deviation due to stretch or contraction of the timing belt, and the recording starting position of the recording head.
