PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing machine which, after a power failure, can realize positive continuous carrying operation by a material carrying device and, at the same time, can avoid interference. SOLUTION: A slide drive control means can quickly stop moving (lifting/ lowering) operation of a slide through the utilization of a slide quick stop command generated upon the detection of a power failure of an original power supply. A material carrying drive control means can stop carrying operation through the utilization of a carrying stop command generated upon the detection of a fact that the power failure detection position is before a stop limit position. When the power failure detection position is not before the stop limit position, carrying operation in an ordinary carrying direction synchronized with the movement of the slide can be continued while utilizing a generated continuous synchronous ordinary carrying command and ensuring a drive power supply of each carrying drive motor after the detecting the power failure of the original power supply by utilizing counter electromotive force generated from each slide drive motor at the time of decelerating the rotation of the slide drive motors.
