PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of an electric pot capable of inhibiting foreign matter from getting into the electric pot by preventing an unanticipated opening of a lid 5 and disabling the pot from getting operated by sounding a buzzer when the lid 5 is opened without permission. SOLUTION: When a lid is locked by operating a lid lock lever 13, the lid 5 is locked to prevent it from opening even if a lid opening and closing bar 15 is operated. When the lid is not in a locked state, water is hindered from boiling by preventing the electric pot from moving into a normal control with the lid 5 remaining in an easily openable state.
