The method involves moving a heater (4) at a distance from the foil (2) after placing it over the object(s) (1) so as to shrink the foil onto the objects by heating it. The temp. of the heated foil is measured, at least in some areas, and the heat output of the heater is regulated to an optimized shrinkage temp. for the respective region of the foil. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for shrinking a foil onto an object.
