#CMT# #/CMT# The device i.e. casing (1), has a connector (3) connected with an ignition coil (12), and display units for displaying an operating state of the ignition coil. The display units are coupled to comparison units for comparing a value of a discharge current on a discharge path of the coil, with a threshold, where an ignition of an LED (4) of the display units corresponds to a defective state of the coil.
