PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a handy umbrella housing bag which keeps wet umbrellas housed from slipping off while carried walking and a production method thereof which enables rational formation thereof without extra material costs. SOLUTION: A flap 5 is extended to be wound on an umbrella 9 from an open rim of a bag body 1 opened upward. In one production method to be adopted, for the formation of the flap 5, a synthetic resin film 60 continuously laminated is welded or cut overhung across the width thereof by being inclined properly. In the other method, a cylindrical inflation film 70 is weldered or cut overhung across the width thereof by being inclined in the longitudinal direction thereof or by keeping the bottom rim 3 of the bag body thereof protruded outward in the longitudinal direction thereof and an open rim 4 thereof recessed inward.
