PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a compositional deviation when spherical powder is obtained by a method of feeding raw material powder into combustion flame. SOLUTION: The spherical oxide powder is obtained by a feeding stage where raw material powder consisting of an oxide composition is fed into combustion flame together with a carrier gas mainly made up of an inert gas; a melting stage where the fed raw material powder is melted in the combustion flame to obtain a melting-treated material; and a solidifying stage where the melting-treated material is discharged to the outside of the combustion flame, and is thereby solidified.
