<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize easy character printing operation to a tab by a user without a mistake with an imaging apparatus for printing characters onto the tab (index) of a tab sheet (index paper). <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises a tab printing data input part for inputting printing data to be printed on a tab, and a controlling system for tab printing. The controlling system detects the maximum number of characters to be printed on a printing area of the tab for judging whether or not the number of characters of the printing data inputted from the tab printing data input part is larger than the maximum printable number of characters, so as to prohibit the input of the printing data from the tab printing data input part, and to provide an alert display in the case where the number of the characters of the printing data exceeds the maximum printable number of characters. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
