PURPOSE: A method of catalytic dehydrogenation of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons using carbon dioxide as an oxidant is provided to improve the hydrocarbon conversion, to decrease the reaction temperature, and to save the energy. CONSTITUTION: The method of catalytic dehydrogenation of alkyl aromatic hydrocarbons is carried out in the presence of a catalyst and carbon dioxide as an oxidant. The method is characterized in that the catalyst is a supported catalyst consisting of vanadium(V) and antimony(Sb) as active metals supported by a carrier. Further, the catalyst may be a supported catalyst containing 0.1 to 30 wt% of vanadium and 0.1 to 30 wt% of antimony based on the weights of the oxides thereof. |
