The arm-rest for detachably fastening to a seat e.g. wheelchair has two fasteners (5,4) joined together by a frame (6) and of which each has a locking device to give a positive locking connection to suitable mounts on the chair. The locking device for the second fastener is released by hand and that of the first fastener is released by swinging the frame around a pivot axis which is preferably horizontal. This locking device has a pivoted lever, one end having a locking section and the other end working with a surface of a counter-piece when the frame is swung out. The lever pivots into a release position.
