The pushbutton switch includes an actuating button (12) and a mobile contact (14). A pivoting nut within the switch is moved by the pushbutton action, and in turn rotates a pivoting contact about a second parallel axis. Centrally within the switch is a nut (16) which is mounted to pivot under the action of the pushbutton, and a drive element (15) on which the nut acts when pivoting. The mobile contact (14) forms a piece which is distinct from the drive element (15), and is mounted to pivot about an axis (A2) which is parallel to that (A1) about which the nut pivots. The pushbutton is mounted in an opening formed in the cover of the switch with the drive element being hinged on this cover (24). The mobile contact is formed from a metal plate (14) which is L-shaped, and pivots along a knife edge which sits in a supporting gutter (28).
