PURPOSE: A method for remotely and integratedly controlling home appliances using a voice recognition function is provided to control each home appliance by transmitting an infrared signal corresponding to a command or controlling power lines, and to install a switch for inputting a voice command, thereby increasing efficiency of the voice recognition function. CONSTITUTION: When a switch is turned on(S710), a voice recognition remote control device recognizes that a voice is inputted from a user(S712). The device synthesizes a voice recognition result with the voice of the user, and outputs the synthesized voice(S714). The device converts the recognized voice into a predetermined serial number(S716), and transmits the serial number to a main control device(S718). The main control device converts the serial number into a control code for controlling home appliances(S720). If the home appliances are infrared control apparatuses(S722), the control code is transmitted to an infrared remote control device(S724). If the appliances are power control apparatuses(S722), the control code is transmitted to a power line control device(S730). The infrared remote control device transmits an infrared signal to the appliances(S726). The appliances perform a received command(S728). The power line control device performs a control operation according to the control code(S732).
