摘要 PURPOSE: A preventing structure of the axial movement of a cam shaft is provided to minimize the effect from a thermal expansion of a cam shaft and the axial movement of the cam shaft by locating a movement preventing device in the center of the cam shaft and inserting a flange portion of the cam shaft between a support of a cylinder head and an auxiliary support. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary support(220) is formed in one side of a support(210) in the center of a cylinder head(200). An inserting portion(230) having steps(211) is formed inside in each support. A pair of flange portions(110) is formed in a cam shaft(100). The flange portions are inserted into the inserting portion. A device to prevent the axial movement of the cam shaft is installed in the center of the cam shaft to minimize the axial movement of the cam shaft. The axial movement of the cam shaft is prevented by preventing the clearance between the flange portions and the inserting portion though the gap of the flange portion is widened by the thermal expansion of the cam shaft. Moreover, the size of an engine is reduced by controlling the gap between the flange portions and the inserting portion.
