DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SELECTING OPTIMAL DECISION TREE FOR DATA MINING

PURPOSE: A device and a method for selecting an optimal decision tree for data mining are provided to select the optimal decision tree based on a TIC(Tree Information Criteria) value after defining the TIC value by using a posterior probability. CONSTITUTION: The multidimensional data and the nested decision trees constructed by multidimensional data are inputted(S201). The probability of each multidimensional data for a given decision tree is calculated by using the inputted multidimensional data and the nested decision tree(S203). The prior probability of the given tree is calculated(S204). The posterior probability is calculated according to the Bayes theorem by using the each probability of the multidimensional data for the given tree and the prior probability of the given tree(S205). A unified optimal decision tree is found out by selecting the decision tree of the highest posterior probability for each tree(S206).
