COMPOSITION FOR INHIBITING MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASE ACTIVITY AND ANGIOGENESIS, CONTAINING NM23 PROTEIN AS EFFECTIVE INGREDIENT

PURPOSE: A composition containing Nm23 protein exhibiting MMP(matrix metalloproteinase) activity inhibiting effects and angiogenesis inhibiting effects is provided which is effective in preventing and treating various symptoms and diseases mediated by overexpression or excess activity of MMP and caused by abnormal angiogenesis. CONSTITUTION: A composition contains Nm23 protein as an effective ingredient and is formulated into an injection solution, an inhalant, a tablet, a hard gelatin capsule, a soft gelatin capsule, a Ringers solution, granules, a pill or a paste. The Nm23 protein is Nm23-H1 protein. MMP activity inhibiting effects of Nm23 protein are examined using a spectrofluorometer, MMPs used are prepared in insect cells using genetic engineering. The Nm23-H1 protein inhibits 63% of MMP-1, 90% of MMP-2 and 82% of MMP-3 respectively, Nm23-H2 protein inhibits 40% of MMP-1 and 90% of MMP-2 respectively at a concentration of 2μg/ml, as compared to a control group.
