PURPOSE: An air compressor is provided to reduce the load volume of motor and vibration and noise by decreasing the stroke length of the piston. CONSTITUTION: An air compressor(100) comprises a cylinder body(110) having an air compression chamber and which is U-shaped; a cylinder head(120) having an inlet valve(121) for sucking air and an outlet valve(122) for discharging the compressed air, and which is mounted onto the cylinder body so as to guide inlet and outlet of the air; a rotation rod(160) mounted at a portion of a crank shaft(130) having a pulley rotating by the driving force from the motor; and a connecting rod(170) an end of which is pin-coupled to a piston rod(150) so as to allow a piston(140) arranged in the air compression chamber of the cylinder to reciprocate in vertical direction, the other end of which is pin-coupled to the rotation rod, and the center portion of which is hinge-coupled to a portion of the cylinder body.
