<p>3-Carbalkoxy-1-thia-isochromane-1,1-dioxides. The new cpds. having marked pharmacodynamic action on the central nervous system are of formula: (where R1 and R2 are lower alkyl; R3 is H or lower alkyl; and R4 is alkyl, opt. substd. with halogen, aryl or heterocyclic residues or cycloalkyl) are prepd. (i) by esterification of the acid (or acid chloride) with R4OH, (ii) by ring closure of the corresp. ammonium O-(-CH2CR3(Hal)COOR4)-phenylsulphonate, or (iii) reacting the substd. BzCR3(OH)COOR4 with conc. H2SO4.</p> |
