<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter in which a temperature gradient of a cooler is reduced and the cooler having a large thermal resistance value can be applied. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter for outputting power having a predetermined frequency by using a semiconductor element comprises a diode rectifier 2 having low occurrence loss and installed on a first heat sink 12A having a first cooling fan 13A, an inverter circuit 4 having a number of occurrence losses and installed on a second heat sink 12B having a second cooling fan 13B so that thermal resistance values of the first heat sink 12A and the second heat sink 12B are set to different values based on the losses of the diode rectifier 2 and the inverter 4 installed at the sinks 12A and 12B. Then, it is preferred to install a DC smoothing capacitor 3 for blocking the blowing air of the fan 13 at an opposite side to the fan 13A of the first sink 12A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
